EastWestMaps is our mobile app for use on Apple iOS and Android phones. It’s free from your AppStore or Play Store and comes with a free test map of Clare Island. Other maps for Wicklow, the South East and Connemara & Mayo are purchased in app. I have just completed an annual update of the maps below and current users may wish to avail of free updates for any of the following maps purchased:
Achill Nephin – a further round of updates to local placenames around Dooagh, Achill Head & Ashleam, updates to local placenames in the Owenduff river catchment and new walking trail at Letterkeen. (Please note if you have our Wild Nephin print map, that the proposed footbridge across the Owenduff near the Blue Lodge has not been constructed as of yet, it may happen at some stage).
Blackstairs – various minor updates and new walking trails near Castleboro/ Courtnacuddy.
Comeragh Galtee – various minor updates to tracks and features.
North Wicklow – no update yet. This will be a complete new map in due course, awaiting work on the north west corner. Will advise when complete.
South Wicklow – various minor updates to tracks and features.
To update your maps on Apple iOS, Swipe Left on map title and select Delete. Then select Download to get new version.
To update your maps on Android, hold your finger down (long tap) on map title and select Delete. Then select Download to get new version.
Remember! If you spot errors/ omissions/ new detail for EastWest Mapping maps, then please do let us know at https://eastwestmapping.ie/contact-us/ We’ll check it out and in due course, they will appear as updates above.
EastWestMaps app updates:
Apple iOS – the current version is 3.25 and now gives a co-ordinate readout in Irish Grid instead of Lat/Long. The reading is always for the central crosshairs, remember if you wish to get your current location – then first tap to update your position with a GPS fix.
Android – we hope to implement above Irish Grid readout in due course plus updates required for Android 10 & 11 etc. Will advise by Facebook and Instagram when implemented.
