We would like to wish a Happy & Healthy New Year to all our customers. Who knows what the coming year will bring, not least weatherwise! We've been pretty well confined to base for most of last December, so we are a little behind on production of the Wicklow (Mountains) East sheet in our series. I hope to go to print sometime in February and we'll let you know when that's done. Regarding other plans for 2011, these include:

– Reprint and update of our Wicklow Way Mapguide.

– Development of a digital map product for the Dublin & Wicklow hills. At present this looks most likely to run on mobile phones, so if you're thinking of upgrading your phone, I'd recommend a 'smartphone' with integrated GPS chip running either the Android or Symbian operating system. More on this anon.

– Development of information for a series of loop walks. We had a successful print publication some years ago called 'Wicklow Way Walks' which is long out of print. This new series will feature family friendly walks as well as longer rambles and hill walks. We haven't fully decided how to publish these yet but it'll likely be a mixture of print publications, free downloads and digital map guides.

– Looking further down the road, we are looking at expanding our mapping efforts to other regions.
