Cooley Map Update ~ Foyles Way

News from local map user, Declan Gray is that the Foyles Way path is fully open again. This riverside trail runs from near the Lumpers pub in Ballymakellett and ascends the narrow steep valley of the Altboy. It was badly damaged and washed away in the floods of October 2023 but Joe Foyle with help of local lads have built it back, better than ever. The path has been stabilised and the twenty or so bridges reduced to twelve. It more or less follows the same route as that published on the Cooley 1:25,000 map, just with less stream crossings. A handy route to know if walking in Cooley and the Carlingford Hills.
